In our next meta-analysis (the largest in the world) we showed a significant inverse association between daily step count and all-cause mortality and CV mortality with more the better over the cut-off point of 3867 steps/day for all-cause mortality and only 2337 steps for CV mortality. This confirms that we can start even with the relatively low number of steps/day (around 4000 steps), but we should always try to improve our results, as the largest reduction for mortality is observed for those between 6-13,000 steps depending on age.
This analysis was widely discussed worldwide, including BBC, CNN, the Times, Daily mail and others.
